Walkin’ Around Checkin’ Stuff Out. #18
BINGO!
Sandy’s Tavern. Richfield, MN
I think I might be addicted to BINGO!
We stopped at Sandy’s on a Wednesday night to grab a burger and play some dice and a game of BINGO! broke out.
I had no interest in playing, but Pam talked me into staying for one game. The next thing I know we’d played six rounds and I was rockin’ 6 cards at once. Pam even won a round.
I always think ‘old people’ when I think of BINGO! but the crowd was all over the place age-wise…there were oldsters and twenty-something’s all coming together over burgers, beers and BINGO! Gotta love that.
Sandy’s Tavern. Richfield, MN
Sandy’s is a treasure. A dive bar located in an old house. It could be the worst place of all time with the worst food and rude people and I’d still love the place. Thankfully the food is pretty good, the people are nice…and…BINGO!
Sandy’s Tavern. Richfield, MN
One of the best things about Sandy’s is the mix of people…all ages, all shapes and styles, from young to old. There’s no one scene at Sandy’s and that’s pretty cool.
Different people need to hang out together more often…especially these days.
Land Rovers.
Richfield, MN
I’m not a car guy, but I do love these old Land Rovers.
I love vehicles that are all about utility and practicality. The kind of vehicle you can drive in crappy weather and beat to crap out of and the thing can take it.
You don’t usually see one of these old Land Rover Defenders, let alone five…so I spun around to checkout what was going on.
Turns out there’s a shop that rebuilds the things right in Richfield.
I’m sure they cost as much as a new Porsche. (So much for practicality.)
Bishop & Rook. Richfield, MN
You gotta love a place that has the passion to just work on one type of vehicle. That’s commitment.
I had all I could do to not go inside and talk them. It would be cool to see them work and hear stories, but I would just want one of those things so I took off before I got too tempted.
Art Shanty Project.
Lake Harriet. Minneapolis, MN
Art Shanties are crazy themed art ice houses and sculptures that hit the frozen lake each year at this time.
It’s a pretty cool way to get people off the couch and outside in the middle of winter.
It took forever for the lake to freeze, but it finally did. Sadly, the weather warmed up and we had a bunch of 45 degree days and rain and they had to pull the things off the lake way too soon. Total drag.
I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry when you have a bunch of people hanging out on a frozen lake.
Rain In February.
Minneapolis, MN
Man, what a weird year. Zero snow and people walking around with umbrellas in February.
We should be getting two feet of snow and bundling up from -10 degree weather.
But I’m not gonna lie…as much as I like winter, this weather is feeling pretty damn good.
