Gotta love summer. Lakes, bikes, drive-ins, blue skies and cool hats.
I’ve been drawing in the backyard and leaving the music off, going with the birds chirping as my soundtrack in the morning.
Frostop Root Beer.
Taylors Falls, MN
Nothing says “summer” like a drive-in restaurant. And nothing says nostalgia like a giant scaled something…in this case a spinning mug of root beer. That’s just fun. What better way to attract tourists and kids? People need to make more big things like this…and make them spin…and throw in some neon, too.
Hat Walkers.
Minneapolis, MN
Speaking of summer…I saw these two walking past the coffee shop in perfect sync wearing these sweet hat/bonnet things. They were like twins. I bet they complete each others sentences.
A Serious Set Of Brows.
I saw this old dude walking by the coffee shop with an impressive set of eyebrows. You could comb those suckers and the comb might get stuck or break.
Planting Flowers.
Minneapolis, MN
We saw a couple cool oldsters planting flowers in front of this cool building over by St. Anthony Main. That looks like a pretty cool retirement gig. (Although I’d have to learn how to like planting flowers.)
Born To Be…Wild?
Minneapolis, MN
I saw this dude and thought he was riding the quietest chopper Harley ever. Turns out he was riding an electric Bicycle. Kind of a letdown. He even had a bottle of water that wasn’t whiskey. Born to be mild.
Angel Bomb Studio.
Minneapolis, MN
Cool place we walked through at Art-A-Whirl. I love printing presses, they’re as much art as the art they make, and the people that run them have passion and skill that’s to be admired.
So many lunches at that frost top growing up!
