Hudson, WI
Took a Sunday drive to Hudson for some food and to walk around with Davis and check stuff out.
This is how you welcome people to your city.
Driving old mainstreets is a bit like time travel. I wish there was still a 5 and dime, bakery and butcher shop...but at least the buildings are still standing.
You don’t have to look far to find an American flag on a small town mainstreet.
(And…yes, I know mainstreet is actually two words, but I’ve never spelled it that way and I’m not about to start now. It looks better as one word.)
I love small town mainstreets with the old buildings and all the charactor you don’t get in the suburbs. And old TV antennas that don’t work but I guess aren’t worth taking down.
The big city lights of downtown Hudson shine bright. It’s neon, so even if it is for questionable Chinese/Japanese food and tattoos I’m ok with it.
I’ve never been a fan of the Corvette, but it is kind of the perfect car for cruisin’ the strip in Hudson. I didn’t confirmation but odds are he was rocking’ a mullet and stitchy-pants.
This was a kickass little coffee shop in the basement of an old building with an alley entrance. It took 25 years, but these small town are finally starting to offer a decent cup of coffee, or in my case...tea, which is actually harder to find than coffee.
Hudson is a great little city
