Man, the world is a mess. So let’s focus on dogs (and cats) and cool cars and interesting people. We all need to turn off the news, get out of your internet bubble that does nothing but make us fear and hate other people and get out there and find cool shit, meet cool people (yes, even the ones we disagree with) and pet cool dogs.
Old Dude And A Beer.
Kid in a candy store / old dude with a beer, same deal. Saw this guy at Sea Salt just hanging out drinking a beer watching people walk past. Probably texting his wife telling her his was out “running errands”.
Couple At Minnehaha Falls.
I saw these two at Minnehaha Falls. Complete and total chill. Brought their own chairs, found a good spot and cracked open a couple books. Not a care in the world...reading glasses on, sunglasses at the ready.
Workout Dude.
This dude had the full set-up...top to bottom color coordination complete with orange mirrored shades. Lookin’ decked-out for a 20 mile run or Iron-Man competition...or sitting on a park bench taking selfies. I don’t blame him, that’s a really good bench and those shades were smooth.
DMV People.
Doesn’t matter who you are, we all gotta go to the DMV...black, white, young, old, rich, poor. Seems like the perfect place to do a talk show...or speed meeting...get to know the person sitting next to you in 5 minutes! But mostly people just keep to themselves and stare at their phones or the beige walls.
Ford Gran Torino.
That woman had the look like she’s been cruisin’ in that thing since 1977. Probably listening to the same 8-track tapes from 50 years ago. No one looks that happy riding around in a mini van.
The fact that the Gran Torino is now a cool car says a lot about the current state of car design. The Ford Gran Torino was never a cool car (unless it was painted like the Starsky & Hutch car), but cars today suck so bad we see one of these and think it’s cool, and it certainly is sitting next to a generic SUV.
Scones At Harriet Brasserie.
Harriet Brasserie is one of our favorite restaurants in town...can’t recommend it enough. We’ve been regulars for years but we had no idea they made their own scones for brunch on the weekends. People were raving about them so I went to pick some up the next morning but they were SOLD OUT. The following morning I showed up right when they opened...the whole restaurant smelled like fresh scones. In fact they weren’t even done yet. So I waited. The owner brought them out on a tray and I had to wait another 5 minutes for them to cool down enough to eat. Wow...they were amazing. But you SHOULD NOT go get them...they don’t make many and I don’t want to miss out again.
Dogs (And A Cat).
You may or may not know that I draw dogs (and cats) in exchange for a donation to any pet rescue. It’s a great way to draw things that make me smile and do good while I’m at it. Thanks to everyone that’s ever made a donation…it’s thousands of dollars (heck, at this point it’s tens of thousand of dollars) that go to a great cause. Here’s a few recent drawings:
Love your work and the color commentary! Hope you're doing well! Hi to Mike.
Great dog and cat pictures.
